Obituary

Sharon Warwick, 58, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026. She was born on July 29, 1967, to the late Marion Guy Hamilton and Patsy May McColm.

Sharon was a longtime resident of the San Luis Valley and was known for her warm heart, infectious personality, and genuine love for people. She worked for many years as a clerk at Safeway, where she became a familiar and beloved face in the community. Sharon’s checkout line was often the longest in the store because customers looked forward to visiting with her and sharing a conversation before heading home.

A proud member of the Scooby-Doo Fan Club, Sharon was known by family and friends as the number one Scooby-Doo fan. She was also active in both a cancer support group and a Crohn’s support group, where she found strength in helping and encouraging others.

Sharon’s hobbies and interests reflected her vibrant personality. She loved collecting Scooby-Doo memorabilia, listening to classic rock, arts and crafts, trying new foods, spending time with family and friends, and visiting with anyone she met. She was famous for giving the very best hugs and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. She also enjoyed claw machines, admired classic Camaros, and had a special love for animals of every kind.

On July 3, 1998, Sharon married Sheriff Dan Warwick in Center, Colorado. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and friendship.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Sheriff Dan Warwick; her children, Tyler (Alexia) Hamilton, Nolan Eller, and Matthew (Jacque) Hamilton; as well as numerous brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Guy Hamilton and Patsy May McColm and stepfather Stanley Bundy; her grandparents; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Open House will be held at the BPOE Elks Lodge No. 1297 in Alamosa at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Rogers Family Mortuary is honored to be in care of the cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations.
