Monte Vista resident Sharon Adams, 70, passed away peacefully at her home on November 23, 2023.

Sharon was born to George and Lorene Franklin on November 29, 1952 in Atwood Kansas. She grew up

in Atwood and lived in Kansas until moving to Colorado in 1979. That Kansas heritage remained very

important to her throughout her life. Soon after moving to the San Luis Valley, she married the love of

her life Kerry Adams on June 4, 1983, they were married for 40 wonderful years and raised their two

children together in Monte Vista.

Sharon was an active member of the community serving as a teacher at Sargent High School for nearly

40 years. During the summers she would work as the office manager for SLV Crop Care. Teaching was

her life's passion and she was continually inspired by her students. She strove to help them however she

could. She also acted as an advisor for one of the most successful and active FBLA (Future Business

Leaders of America) chapters, organized and coordinated indoor 4H events, and was a valued member

of the PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization) Sisterhood. After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed

working at Summit Engineering through the remainder of her life. She enjoyed family visits, working in

the yard, traveling around the US, and watching both Disney movies and crime drama television. She

most valued family, tradition, and hard work.

Sharon is survived by her husband Kerry Adams, her children Katherine (Mark) Hardy of Bismarck, ND,

and Kenneth Adams of Milwaukee, WI; her grandchildren Everett and Jackson Hardy; her siblings Joyce
