Obituary

Sally Lee Lusk was a beacon of creativity and love, who graced this world with her presence from her birth on June 26, 1927, in Alameda, California, to her peaceful passing on January 1, 2026, in Alamosa, Colorado. She was born to proud parents Walter and Dorothy (Castle) Martin and grew to become an embodiment of care, dedication, and artistic spirit.

Sally spent her life making the ordinary extraordinary, filling her home with warmth and beauty that reflected her soul. She approached homemaking not just as a job but as an art, pouring her love into every meal prepared and every corner decorated. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and she instilled values of kindness and creativity in all who knew her. Sally is survived by her son Michael Lydeen of Alamosa, CO., her step children Jay Lusk of Montana & Alex Austin of Burien, Washington; and her siblings Tar Martin of La Mesa, California and Rod Mendenhall of Leavenworth Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband John Hilbert Lusk and her son Jeffrey Lydeen, and her siblings Gloria Speed, Patti Martin, and David Martin who passed away the same day as Sally only a few hours apart.

Her passion for art was not confined to her home. Sally was a talented self-employed artist, and through her work, she touched the lives of many in her community and beyond. Her pieces, rich with emotion and skill, were a testament to her creative spirit and an extension of her loving nature.

Per her wishes cremation was performed at Rogers Family Mortuary and Crematory. To leave online condolences, tributes and words of comfort for Sally's family please visit www.RogersFunerals.com.
