Alamosa – Robert Don Gallegos
Robert Don Gallegos, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2024, in Alamosa, Colorado. Born on July 23, 1978, in La Jara, Colorado, Robert's life was a testament to his loving, courageous, and selfless nature.
Robert was born in the small town of La Jara. He was raised by his parents, Donna Fiorini and John Phroper in Saint Joseph Missouri. He was a pillar of strength and love within his family, which includes his son Dominic, daughter Gracie, and their mother Melissa Jiron. Robert was a guiding force for his siblings, Mark (Jonna) Gallegos, Tyson (Jenny)Kerns, Mike (Janean)Phillippe, Brett and Matt Gallegos, and his sister Alisha Gallegos. Father Mark Gallegos, his grandmother Euclides Gallegos also survives him, along with numerous extended family members, friends, and his Grizzly MMA Brothers. Robert's life was touched by the loss of his daughter Trinity Dawn Gallegos, his grandmother Betty Fiorini, and his grandfathers; Don Fiorini, Robert Gallegos, and Finest Phroper.
A lifelong learner, Robert attended Benton High School before pursuing his passion for holistic health at Trinidad State, where he earned his HHP Holistic Health and Massage Therapy degrees. His thirst for knowledge led him to Adams State University, where he was working towards an MBA and a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Robert's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his community shone through when he founded Grizzly MMA over 15 years ago. His vision was to reach out to the community, teaching discipline and self-improvement through martial arts. As a competitor in several MMA/UFC tournaments, Robert not only showcased his skills but also inspired others to strive for excellence.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robert was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman, relishing every opportunity to go hunting, camping, fishing, and four-wheeling. His love for Harleys and MMA was matched only by his love for his family. Robert was the quintessential protector, always looking out for others with a heart of gold. His capacity to love was immense, sometimes overwhelmingly so, but it was this very trait that endeared him to all who knew him.
Robert's legacy is one of unwavering love and selflessness. He was a man who lived for others, always ready to lend a hand or offer support. His absence will leave a void in the hearts of many, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
As we bid farewell to Robert Don Gallegos, we reflect on a life lived with passion, kindness, and an unyielding commitment to others. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed, but the memories he created will be treasured forever. Rest in peace, Robert; your love and legacy will never be forgotten.
