Obituary

Alamosa resident Richard Lee Brock, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on February 9, 2024. Born on July 14, 1947, to Roy and Jean Brock in Indiana, Richard's journey through life was marked by love, service, and the simple joys of family and home.

Richard proudly served his country in the Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. After his military service, he dedicated many years as a skilled mechanic for the railroad. In his retirement, Richard found great joy in the tranquility of his 40-acre homestead, a testament to his love for the land and the simple, peaceful life he cherished.

A man of many interests, Richard was an active member of the Barbarians Motorcycle Club in Ohio and relished the camaraderie and adventures on the open road. Above all, Richard was a homebody, a gentle soul who found his greatest happiness in the company of his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Christine Brock of Alamosa, CO, with whom he shared a beautiful life and countless cherished moments. His legacy continues through his children: Roy (Amy) Brock, Audra (Mike) Keiber, Angela Brock, and Robert (Evelyn) Brock; and his stepchildren: Colette (Michael) Metz, Kenneth (Amy) Banfield Jr., and Elizabeth (Joshua) Ashcraft. His 5 granddaughters, 2 great-granddaughters, 3 step granddaughters, and 2 step grandsons, and his sister Pam. Richard was preceded in death by both his parents and two sisters.

Cremation has been chosen and the family will hold a private Memorial Service at a later date. Richard's life was a portrait of quiet strength, unwavering love, and the honor of a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a beacon of warmth and stability in the lives of all who knew him.
