Randy Aaron
Deherrera
April 24, 1971 – May 19, 2026
Randy DeHerrera, 55, was born on April 24, 1971, in Pomona, California, and passed away on May 19, 2026, in Alamosa, Colorado.
Randy lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and a warm spirit that touched the lives of many. He was known as a Carpenter and Mason, and he often described himself with humility as a jack of all trades and master of none. In truth, he was a man who could turn his hands to nearly anything, and he took pride in doing honest work and helping others whenever he could. Those who knew him will remember him as friendly, handy, and passionate, qualities that were reflected in both his work and the way he carried himself through life.
He found joy in the simple and meaningful things that made life rich. He loved his dogs, Baby and Doobie, and he treasured time spent walking in the mountains in search of arrowheads. He also enjoyed gardening, camping, and making fires, and he especially loved eating his favorite food, Chubbies. These interests were more than pastimes, because they were part of the life he built with care, patience, and appreciation for the world around him.
Randy is survived by his father, Maggie DeHerrera, his mother, Elizabeth Medina, and the loving mother of his children, Margie Trujillo. He is also survived by his brother, Joshua DeHerrera; his aunts and uncles, Leroy and Lorraine Medina, Danny and Gail Sanchez, Robert Filomon and Gerry DeHerrera, Cindy Medina, Rose Medina, Peter R. and Theresa DeHerrera, Sarah Hurtado, Lydia Benton, and Rita and Paul Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews, including Emilio and Kessa DeHerrera, Alexandria "Alex" DeHerrera, and Diamond and Mario DeHerrera; and his god-brothers, Jason Medina and Luis Madrid, and cousin Shawn Espinoza. Randy loved dearly and was loved by his numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose Margarito and Luisita DeHerrera, and Clarence and Margie Medina; his children, Jeremy Randy DeHerrera and Angeleah DeHerrera; his brother, Lucas DeHerrera; and his uncles, Jimmy DeHerrera, Emilio DeHerrera, Clarence Medina, and Victor Medina, cousin Justice Espinoza , and niece Zoey Espinoza
