Peyton Kirt
Valentine
July 16, 1998 – December 21, 2024
Peyton Kirt Valentine was born on July 16, 1998. Peyton was 26 years old when he passed away on December 21, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Natasha Valentine; his parents, Aaron and Tami Valentine; his siblings Josh (Ahlisia) Valentine, Elizabeth Valentine, and Addison Valentine; his paternal grandparents, Kirt and Cynthia Valentine; and his maternal grandparents, Kelvin and Ann Huffaker; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
From the time he was a little boy, Peyton had a big imagination with wildly creative ideas. He loved dinosaurs, Star Wars, and exotic animals. He got along well with his brother and sisters, and they spent hours playing in Peyton's imaginative world. He and his siblings became life-long best friends.
His big ideas and creativity grew with him into adulthood. When matched with his intelligence, these ideas and creativity enabled Peyton to pursue opportunities in his employment. He helped write and manage grants for the Conejos County Water Conservation District, wrote a column for Working Ranch Magazine, and wrote articles for The Citizen. His creative intelligence prompted him to seek and pursue opportunities in his personal life, as he and his wife, Natasha, made plans to build a ranch of their own. They were looking forward to raising a family on the ranch. Peyton loved the ranch. Throughout his life, he enjoyed riding in the mountains, gathering and checking cows, but he loved working with young horses the most. Peyton was training a three-year-old gelding named Smokey, and his talent for training is evidenced in this young horse's abilities.
Peyton was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After graduating from high school, he served a mission for The Church in the Florida Tallahassee Mission (Spanish speaking) from 2017 to 2019. After his mission, he enrolled in college and earned a Bachelor's degree in English/Communications. While in college, he met his wife, Natasha, and they were sealed in the temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2024. Service was never a chore or project for Peyton, it was something that just came naturally for him. He loved serving others, always meeting people where they were at, with no judgment, and offering true friendship and kindness. Peyton was adventurous, kind, compassionate, and fun. His life is honored as others strive to be more like him.
