Pauline Mae Hill, 93, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026.
Pauline was born on September 1, 1932, to the late Lemuel Matthew Spencer and Mary Esther Ross. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, Kansas.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pauline faithfully served many families through the Relief Society and other church callings. She was called as a family history missionary in 2002. Her compassion, kindness, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on those who knew her.
On November 21, 1955, Pauline married the love of her life, the late Richard Wendell Hill. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles, California Temple. Together, they shared many wonderful years of marriage and built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Together they owned and operated Valley Textile Rental in Alamosa for many years, proudly serving local businesses throughout the San Luis Valley. Through their business, they developed lasting friendships and earned the respect of the community they faithfully served.
Pauline found great joy in family history, temple work, traveling, and crocheting. She treasured her family above all else and created a lifetime of memories with those she loved.
She is survived by her children, Sandi (Rick) Greenlee, Richard (Judy) Hill, Vernon Hill, Paula Jenkins, Gregg (Pam) Hill, and Pamela (Rick) Davidson; her sister, Juanita Richardson; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel Matthew Spencer and Mary Esther Ross; her beloved husband, Richard Wendell Hill; her daughter, Dee Anne Hill; her granddaughter, Jeny Hill; her sisters, Mattie Bledsoe, Hattie Swartz, Helen Brown, Zelda Orender, Maxine Spencer (Pauline's Twin), and her brother, Homer Spencer.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Alamosa Municipal Cemetery.
Pauline will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, strong work ethic, and deep love for her family. Her legacy of faith, service, and devotion will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know and love her.
