Patricia Ann
Cooper
November 11, 1955 – March 29, 2025
Alamosa- Patricia Ann Cooper
Patricia Ann Cooper, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Alamosa, Colorado. Born on November 11, 1955, in Bell Gardens, California, Patricia's life was a testament to her kind, thoughtful, and courageous spirit.
Patricia's journey began as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, where she served her country with honor and distinction. She received a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal Award. Her dedication to service continued long after her military career, as she became an active participant in parades across Colorado, proudly carrying the USMC flag that meant so much to her. Her commitment to her fellow veterans was evident in her role as a past State Officer in the American Legion and Auxiliary. For over 25 years, Patricia was the heart and soul of the bingo nights at the American Legion, bringing joy and camaraderie to many.
Her love for life was not limited to her service activities. Patricia found pleasure in the simple things, like the thrill of a good day at the casino, the quiet moments spent with a book, and the shared laughter with family and friends while watching her favorite TV shows. These moments of joy were the threads that wove the rich tapestry of her life.
Patricia's legacy is carried on by her loving husband, Charles R. Cooper of Alamosa, who stood by her side in life's journey. She was a beacon of love and strength for her family, including Charles J. (April) Frye, Ruth A. Frye (Drew) Perry, and her adored grandchildren, Thomas (Zoey) Frye, Samantha Frye, Aaron Perry, and Hailie Perry, all of whom brought immense happiness to her life. The light of her wisdom and love will continue to shine through her great-grandchildren, Skylar Condon, Malakia Frye, and Richard Frye, all of Alamosa.
Patricia's brothers, Richard and Norman Dunlop of Goldendale, Washington, will remember her as the sister who always led by example, showing them the importance of service, family, and patriotism. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Dunlop and Frances Rocker, who instilled in her the values of kindness and courage that she carried throughout her life.
Patricia Ann Cooper's story is one of unwavering service, boundless love, and the courage to live a life that inspires others. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we bid farewell to Patricia, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held to honor Patricia's memory, at the Alamosa Cemetery on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
