Monte Vista resident Nicholas Adam Vigil, 37, passed away on May 29, 2021. He was born on May 7, 1984 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Conrad Arthur and Cecilia Maria (Marquez) Vigil. Nicholas grew up in Monte Vista and recently graduated from Trinidad State Junior College with his Barbers Certificate. While attending Trinidad State he was awarded high honors in his course. He enjoyed watching basketball, playing basketball with his kids, cheering for Kobe Bryant and watching the Green Bay Packers. Nicholas is survived by his wife Dana Vigil, his children Jasmine, Ariel, Nicholas, Jr. and Kobe, his mother Cecilia Vigil, his siblings, Robert (Shannel) Vigil, Travis (Danielle) Vigil and Shavannah (David) Duran, his grandmother Darlene Vigil, his brother-in-law Jason (Rachel) Chacon as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, Juan and Angie Marquez and his uncle Jay Marquez. Cremation was selected and a Rosary will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday June 8, 2021 with a Memorial Mass following at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa.
