Nestor J. Montano

Nestor was the son to Alfonzo (shoe maker) and Ruby Montano (homemaker). He made his home in La Jara, Colorado until his passing. Nestor was known to many and will be greatly missed. He was unique, he had many talents, and enjoyed all the great outdoors had to offer along with watching a good football game.

Nestor enjoyed cooking, and coffee was always ready in the morning for any visitors who stopped by. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others who were in need. He was a wonderful father figure to Ruby, Jessica, Amalia, Patricio, Zion (Timmy). He was an uncle to his nieces and nephews, and had unconditional love for all those in his family.

Nestor had a certain smile and laughter that will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by Veronica Montano (wife), infant Rachel Montano, Bonifacio Ruybal, Consuelo Mares, Antonio Martinez, Joe Montano, Edward Montano, Alfonzo Montano, Victor Montano, Jose Michael Montano, Maria Consuelo Valdez, and Evelyn Irene Montano.

Nestor is survived by Sylvia Montano of La Jara, Colorado, Rachel Favela of Avon, Colorado, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with a Rosary at 9:30am, Funeral Mass at 10:00am and burial at La Jara Cemetery on July 8th, 2023. Burial will also include his siblings Maria Consuelo Valdez and Evelyn (Irene) Montano.
