Lifetime La Jara resident Myron Richard Peterson, 94, passed away on May 7, 2024. He was born on March 8, 1930 in Sanford, Colorado. He was the 8th of nine children born to Robert and Nellie (Poulson) Peterson. He served his country in the United States Navy. On September 29, 1951 Myron and Eloise Reynolds were married, they were married 66 years till she passed away in 2017. They enjoyed life together and raised three daughters. They loved to travel the world and visited 6 of the 7 continents, and spent time every January in Hawaii. Myron was a cowboy and a rancher until he retired.

Myron always had a joke to tell with a smile on his face. He also always had a piece of candy in his pocket for the kids at church and loved to hold babies. Myron had a deep and commanding voice and could get everyone's attention. He believed that beef was the only thing for dinner and chocolate and ice cream should be enjoyed every day. A great day for him started with breakfast early in the morning with his buddies at the Campus Cafe. He was very much a family man, who enjoyed spending time together and traveling with his family.

Myron is survived by his daughters Marian Sage and Elaine Peterson; his grandchildren Chrystal, Dustin, and Megan and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as his sister Norma Haynie of Seattle, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Eloise, his daughter Lynette Welsh, Son in Law Buddy Sage and his siblings, Cora Gray, Alice Gillman, Evelyn Garris, Wade Peterson, Leigh Peterson, Paul Peterson, and LouAnn Gilliat.
