Maureen Haggard, 98, passed away peacefully in her home with her daughter by her side on March 25, 2026. Maureen was born in El Dorado Kansas to Willis and Mary (Creighton) McNelly.

Maureen is survived by her loving daughters Mary Hester of Alamosa and Kathy Ottley of Avondale, AZ; her grandkids Rory, Stephanie, Brett, Jocelyn, Andy, Stephen, Karen and Brian; 24 beloved great grandchildren and 2 ½ great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her son Billy Doyle, her husband Raymond Haggard and her grandson David Hiatt.

Maureen taught kindergarten then second grade for many years. Upon retirement was an avid quilter and won many awards for her beautiful quilts.

She was loved by many and was known for her smile.

Cremation was performed at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa and she will be buried in Arizona next to her husband. A Zoom Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. MT June 7, 2026 and details will be forthcoming.
