Mary Katherine Rose Garley, known affectionately as Kathy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, just one day shy of her 61st birthday. Born on December 8, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to the late Eddie Garley and Rosemarie (Sierra) Garley. Kathy's life was a testament being a true free spirit and living life to the fullest. Kathy spent her early years in Albuquerque filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, and moved with her family to Alamosa as a young child.

Kathy truly loved her children—David, Dwight, Shawnte, Dillon, and Clinton—and loved her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. Her sisters Ferminia (Lucas) Herbert and Barbara Garley, and step dad Bill Tate will remember Kathy as a straight shooter that made them laugh. Both of her parents and her brother, George Garley, preceded her in death.

Kathy's was a woman of quiet passions and unique tastes. She was an avid viewer of investigation shows, finding intrigue and excitement in unraveling mysteries from the comfort of her home. The only sport that captivated her attention on the television was gymnastics. Music was another source of joy for Kathy; she enjoyed the rhythms and melodies of R&B music.

Those who knew Kathy will remember her as a woman with a big, loving heart. Kathy's free-spirited nature, her love for music, and her unwavering authenticity will live on in the hearts that knew her. Kathy's journey on earth may have ended, but the impact of her love and the memories she created will endure forever. Her legacy remains - a reminder to embrace life boldly, love deeply, and stay true to oneself.
