Longtime Monte Vista resident Mary C. Garcia, 72, passed away on August 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 10, 1948 in Cerro, New Mexico to Jake and Carolina (Vigil) Archuleta. She married Ralph Garcia on June24, 1967 in Monte Vista. Mary was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, going to the casinos with her husband, puzzles, going to the mountains and fishing, but above all, spending time with her family. Mary is survived by her husband Ralph Garcia of Monte Vista, her children, Phinel (Debbie) Garcia, Gaynell (Jed) Elliott, Corey (Jodi) Garcia and Carlos (Amy) Garcia all of Monte Vista, her grandchildren, Heather Garcia, Presley (Adi) Garcia, Cheyenne Atencio, Chevelle Garcia, Cobi Garcia, Haley Bernal, Syriah Bernal, Darrius Garcia, Isaiah Garcia, Jordan Garcia, Memphis Garcia and Mallori Garcia as well as her great grandchildren, Grayson Garcia, Ayla Garcia and Elias Sariňana, siblings, Jake Archuleta, Romaine Archuleta, Elsie Padilla, Georgia (Tommy) Allen, Tony (Jeannie) Archuleta, Manuel (Sabie) Archuleta and Gloria Archuleta as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Abel Archuleta and Rebecca Leon. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday August 10, 2021 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista. A Recitation of the Rosary will take place at 7:00 pm on Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista with the burial following in the Monte Vista Cemetery.
