Marcella "Martha" Lourdes Salazar, 83, from Alamosa, Colorado, passed away on January 18, 2025 at the Evergreen Nursing Home.
She was born on January 25, 1941 to Mrs. Reyes Archuleta-Salazar (Martinez) and Pedro Ignacio Salazar who proceed her in death. (San Antonio, Colorado)
Martha is survived by her daughter Sylvia T. Estrada (Alamosa, co) followed by her grandchildren David Salazar (Denver, co.) Nicolas Salazar (Colorado Springs) Jesse G. Salazar, (Beebe, Arkansas) Miguel A. Nevarez, (Alamosa, Colorado). Martha was also survived by her great grandchildren Arianna Salazar, (Denver, Colorado) Julia Salazar, (Nashville, Tennessee) Uriah Mondragón, (Colorado Springs) as well as Star Ortega, (Virginia)
She is survived by her sister Luisa Ulibarri, (Salt Lake City, Utah) brothers Orlando (Elizabeth) Salazar, (Albuquerque, New Mexico) Harold Salazar of (Monte Vista, Colorado)
She was proceeded in death by a daughter Pearl Salazar, her grandson Christopher Garcia. As well as her granddaughter Jessica Maricella Nevarez. Brothers Walter (Patty) Salazar and Lionel (Vickie) Salazar, (Lillian Salazar) followed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Martha's hobbies included baking, gardening, cooking, traveling, watching the broncos, spending lots of time with her family especially with her cat Sam. Martha loved listening to music and crocheting.
She was a loving and compassionate person towards her family and close friends. She was ready to pitch in and help someone in need. She took in family when needed.
Martha had a great sense of style and always looked good. She loved jewelry, especially earrings and turquoise were one of her favorite precious stones.
A recitation of the rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 followed by a memorial mass at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 715 4th Street Alamosa, CO. Inurnment will follow the mass at the Alamosa Cemetery.
