Longtime Monte Vista resident Lucy Ada Martinez, 74, passed away on February 12, 2021. She was born on July 31, 1946 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Vincente Medina and Cecelia Avila-Archuleta. She married Robert "Bobby" Martinez in January 23, 1966. Lucy was a Certified Nurse Assistant for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Lucy is survived by her children, Lisa Martinez of Monte Vista, Monica Martinez of Montrose, Colorado, Norma Jean (Jimmy) Mayes of Morrison, Colorado and Robbie Martinez of Montrose, Colorado as well as ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, brother Artie (Tina) Medina of Montrose, Colorado, Betty Gonzales of Pueblo, Colorado as well numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings, Charolette Alarid, Sammy Medina, Teddy Medina, Sofie Medina, Lillian Tafoya and great granddaughter Annalisa Ray Martinez. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday February 20, 2021 at the Workers Union Cemetery in Monte Vista.
