Longtime Alamosa resident Leroy Mondragon, 81, died February 26, 2022 at his home in Alamosa, surrounded by family and under hospice care.

Leroy was born in Saguache, Colorado on June 8, 1940, the proud son of James "Jim" Mondragon and Ruby Aragon. He married Mary Ann Spies on April 9, 1977 in Monte Vista, Colorado.

Leroy worked as a Barber for 40+ years in the Alamosa Community. He worked at Sports Family Hair Care and Leroy's Barber Shop. Leroy loved fishing.

He is survived by his wife Maryann Mondragon of Alamosa; his children Lyann Trujillo, Eric Mondragon, Delicia Fountain, his grandchildren Lakayla Chavez, Lexie Mondragon, Kyle Mondragon, Jacob Mondragon, Cierra Mondragon, Hailey Mondragon, Erica Robell, Marcus Mondragon, RJ Fountain, Nathanael Fountain, Andrianna Fountain and great granddaughter Lelia Robell; his siblings Linda Mondragon, Darlene Pena, Mayo De Herrera, Patsy Melendez, and Eva Sandoval.

Leroy is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Ruby, three brothers and one sister.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
