Longtime Alamosa resident Larry Eugene Hart, 71, died July 17, 2023 at the Ancestra Hospice in Fountain, Colorado.

Larry was born in Monte Vista, Colorado on March 29, 1952 to Charles Cecil Hart and Llewina Parker Hart. He married the love of his life, Rebecca Lee Schofield, for all time and eternity on May 1, 1974 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.

Larry worked for many years as a Supervisor for Blue Peaks Developmental Services in Alamosa. He enjoyed driving in the mountains in his convertible and spending time with his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching old westerns on television, and spent many hours outside working in his garden, landscaping his yard, or driving his tractor.

He is survived by his children: Spencer (Angel) Hart of Alamosa, Bridget Hart of Monument, CO, and Christine (William) Smith of North Pole, Alaska; his grandchildren Trenton (Victoria) Hart of Ohio, Tyler Hart of Denver, CO, Hunter (Allyssa) Romero of Denver, CO, Ibaleen Caudy of Monument, CO, Luke Smith of Alamosa, CO, Logan Smith of Alamosa, CO, Liam Smith of North Pole, AK, and Leo Smith; his great-grandchildren Calleigh and Colton Hart of Ohio; his brother Chuck (Donna) Hart of Ft. Collins, CO; his sisters Patricia (John) Thompson of Loveland, CO, and Debbie (Bruce) Crowe of Denver, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rebecca, his brother Curtis Hart, and his grandson Benson Boughner.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa, and Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the Relief Society room at the Riverwood Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alamosa. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation Saturday morning 11:00 a.m. also at the Riverwood Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 927 Weber Drive, in Alamosa. Interment will be held in the Sanford Cemetery.
