Longtime valley resident Kathy Ann Sabin, 65, died July 17, 2023 at her home in Monte Vista.

Kathy was born in Alamosa, Colorado on January 11, 1958, the daughter of Jim H. Caldwell and Rosalie Brewer. She married Benny Sabin in Alamosa on September 11, 1993.

Kathy worked for several years as a caretaker for the elderly and cleaned homes. She loved listening to country music and some of her favorite artists were George Strait and Conway Twitty, among others. In her younger years, she liked to go dancing and enjoyed roller skating.

She is survived by her husband Benny Sabin of Monte Vista; her siblings Janet (John) McColm of Alamosa, and Howard (Lisa) Caldwell of Huntington, West Virginia; her nieces and nephews Kimberly (Garth) Mathes, Joni (James) Turner, and Kevin McColm all of Alamosa, Jeremiah (Heather) Caldwell, Timmy Caldwell, Vicki Scarberry, Jamie Sturgill, Kimberly (Robert) Lindsey of West Virginia and Carl Sturgill of Ohio, Thelma Maynarid of West Virginia; as well as numerous cousins and extended family and friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.

Cremation was chosen and private family services will be held at a later date.
