Katherine Pauline Torres, 72, passed away on August 18, 2024, at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colorado. Born on May 5, 1952, in Denver, Colorado, Katherine's gentle spirit and nurturing nature were evident from her early years, embodying the Woodstock era's ethos of peace and compassion throughout her life.

Katherine, dedicated her life to the well-being of others. She was a cherished photo finisher and took pride in her role as a domestic engineer, creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. Her innate ability to listen and counsel those in need earned her the affectionate title of the community's babysitter and counselor. Her easy-going demeanor and profound empathy made her a confidant and friend to many.

Katherine's legacy is carried on through her loving family. She is survived by her daughters, Sherrell (Henry) Gutierrez of Alamosa, CO, and Mellissa Torres of San Luis, CO; sons, Martin Barros and Jeremy Torres, both of Denver, CO; and her adored grandchildren, Raymond, Zoey, Micheal of San Luis, CO and Carlos Gutierrez of Alamosa, CO. Her great-grandchildren Blaze Gutierrez and Miklo Torres, they will all miss their grandmother's gentle touch and loving embrace. Katherine also leaves behind her siblings, Renita, Michelle, Michael, Sandy, Cynthia, and Toby.

Those who preceded her in death are her husband Daniel Mark Torres, and both of her parents Martin and Pauline (Bargas) May.

Katherine's life was a testament to the virtues of gentleness, love, and kindness. She had the rare gift of making every individual feel seen, heard, and valued. Her friends and family will profoundly miss her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide them. Katherine Pauline Torres's memory will be treasured, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.
