Center resident Judy Ann Koehn, 75, died October 13, 2023 at her home in Center, surrounded by her loving family and under hospice care.
Judy was born in Gossell, Kansas on November 9, 1947, the daughter to Freeman and Della Koehn. She married the love of her life, Myron L. Koehn, in Galva, Kansas on October 7, 1966, and they enjoyed over 57 years together.
Judy was a wonderful cook and loved to bake for family and friends, or anyone in need. She was a very caring person and made a difference in many people's lives through her generosity. Judy passed her love of cooking down to the generations following her, and enjoyed gardening, cleaning, and especially having tea parties with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Judy was an active member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite High Valley, and loved to sing "Jesus Loves Me" for the children.
She is survived by her husband Myron Koehn of the family home in Center, CO; her children Matthew (Jeanette) Koehn of Pryor, Oklahoma, Andrea (Joe) Koehn of Montezuma, Kansas, Kate (Terry) Good of Center, Colorado, Peter (Rachel) Koehn of Center, Colorado, and Mindy (Louis) Reiff of Severance, Colorado; seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her sister Donna (Ellwyn) Unruh of Galva, Kansas; her brother Dwight Koehn of McPherson, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Lavon Unruh, and Linda Freisen.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the High Valley Mennonite Church. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023 also at the High Valley Mennonite Church. Interment will follow services in the Monte Vista Cemetery. Contributions in her memory are suggested to Hospice del Valle and may be made at 514 Main Street, Alamosa, CO 81101.
