Joseph Anderson
Taylor
January 1, 1960 – November 21, 2025
Joseph Anderson Taylor, Jr., affectionately known as Joe to all who loved him, left this world on November 21, 2025, at the age of 65. Joe was born on January 1, 1960, in Kremling, Colorado, to the late Joseph Taylor Sr., and Margaret (Freel) Taylor.
From a young age, it was evident that Joe would live a life as big as his personality. As he grew, so did his love for the rugged landscapes that he called home, and for the work that would define much of his professional life. Joe spent his career as an industrious Oil Driller, traveling across various states—New Mexico, California, Arizona, Texas, and, of course, Colorado, pursuing his passion with unrivaled zest. He often shared vivid stories of the places he'd been, etching them into the memories of those he spoke with. In addition, Joe's time with Clayton Farms in the Hooper area cemented his reputation as a man who worked tirelessly, respected the land, and supported his community.
Joe was a man whose interests painted the picture of someone who savored the excitement of life. His love of gambling was a testament to his spirit of adventure; he enjoyed the thrill of the game and the camaraderie it brought. Joe was also thrilled by simple pleasures, such as drives in the hills, where he found solace and a connection to nature that rejuvenated his lively spirit.
Those who knew Joe, knew him as a passionate, spirited, and interesting man. He tackled life head-on, faced challenges with a smile, and never backed down from an opportunity to try something new. His presence was a source of strength, entertainment, and wisdom for everyone around him.
Joe's legacy endures through his beloved partner, Donna Murphy of Moffat, Colorado; his sons, Joseph Taylor, III, Jacob Lorenzen of Fort Bridger, Wyoming, and Eddie Lorenzen of California; step-children, Jay Lambrecht and Julianna Lambrecht of Salida, Colorado; and his cherished granddaughter, Ava Lambrecht. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Taylor of Fort Bridger, Wyoming. His legacy will live on through his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends who found joy and laughter in his company.
Joe was also a devoted pet owner, showering love and attention on his animals. He is survived by Lucy, his loyal Pit Bull, and his beloved cats Rowdy, Scooter, and Nemo, who provided him with comfort and companionship throughout the years.
Cremation was performed at the Rogers Family Mortuary Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Moffat Town Hall, 401 Lincoln Avenue, in Moffat CO 81143.
