Obituary

Manassa, Colorado resident Jordan (Thomas) Romero, born April 16, 1990, passed away at the Conejos County Hospital on June 22, 2025, surrounded by her closest family members. Jordan lived great and died great in the sight of God and all those who knew her. Jordan leaves behind two beautiful daughters, Khloe and Maria, and a loving husband David, who she had known since the age of 14-years-old. Jordan and David were sealed for time and all eternity in the Albuquerque, New Mexico temple on December 18, 2014. Up to the time of her passing, Jordan held strong to the covenants she made that day. She was a firm believer in family relationships extending beyond the grave.

For 10 years after their marriage, they lived in Denver, Colorado and were proud members of the Greenwood Village Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jordan considered this time as one of the most precious chapters in her life. Recently they had returned home to live in the place where they first met and to raise their children. For the past two years, Jordan completed her dream of living in the town she grew up in and being a member of the Manassa 3rd Ward, the same ward she attended as a youth. Her ward family in both locations formed some of her strongest life-time relationships. Jordan's family will always be indebted to those who showed love to her in these places.

Jordan was a graduate of Centauri High School and later graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho, with dual degrees in Early Childhood Development and Preschool Education.

While living in Denver, Jordan was employed by the McClintock and Visser families as a part-time nanny. Jordan cherished these families and the services they provided for each other. Jordan taught 4th grade at Manassa Elementary up to one month before her passing. Although teaching while having a terminal illness came with challenges, she refused to quit because of the value her students and co-workers provided to her life and value she provided to them. Jordan always felt the people she met from these employment opportunities were details the Lord put in place for her life.

Jordan sacrificed much to bring her daughters to this earth. She was committed to establishing an eternal family in this life and worked diligently in developing relationships with her husband and daughters. Jordan had an unquestionable faith in Jesus Christ which came very natural to her. Up to her death, she reaffirmed her faith in the God that gave her life.

Although Jordan and David's marriage was for a short 10 years, it was a profound blessing they found one another and shared a period of their lives together. In time, they believe the grief they experienced will be eased by the memory of all they gained together.

Jordan was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Thomas, and multiple unnamed children who were lost prior to birth. She is survived by her loving mother Debbie Thomas, siblings Deslie (Milo) Medina, Trevor (Ashlee) Thomas, Randi (Devin) Billman, and Travis (Tierney) Thomas, along with many other family members, all who were the most important part of her life.
