Obituary

Joni April Andrews, 48, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Alamosa, Colorado. Born on April 11, 1977, in Monte Vista, Colorado, to John McFarland and the late Joyce McFarland, Joni's presence was a gift to all who knew her. A spirited and funny woman, she brought laughter and light-heartedness to every encounter.

Joni's life was one of devotion and love; she cherished her children, Morgan and Tanner Andrews, who survive her along with her loving father, John McFarland; her sister Holly McFarland; niece Shalynn Aldridge (Brandon); nephew Walker McAlear (Destiny); great-nephew Stetson Aldridge; and her many friends and extended family. She rejoins in eternal rest her beloved son Gunner Andrews, her mother Joyce McFarland, and infant siblings Amy and a baby boy, who had all preceded her in passing.

Following her graduation from Trinidad State Junior College with an associate degree, Joni dedicated many years to meticulous service as a housekeeper at various hotels in Alamosa. Loved by colleagues for her unique sense of humor, Joni routinely enlivened the workplace with her infectious laughter and her heartwarming antics.

Joni's interests painted a picture of a woman in love with life's simple pleasures. Her children were her world, and her ability to find joy in the everyday was remarkable. A tire swing on the pond, a tree stump with vibrant flowers, each was a chapter in her book of happiness. Joni's cat, Itty-Bitty, along with her beloved puppies, Butters and Cosmo, added to her delightful household.

As a prankster at heart, Joni relished playing jokes, especially on her uncle Mike, leaving behind many stories that will continue to provoke smiles for years to come. She shared countless exhilarating go-cart rides with her great nephew Stetson, each adventure a treasured memory.

Joni April Andrews's legacy lies in the warmth she left in the hearts of those fortunate to have crossed her path. Her playful spirit, lighthearted jests, and profound love for her family will be cherished and emulated by those she leaves behind. While her absence leaves a void, the echoes of her laughter and the beauty of her floral handiwork will remain as reminders of a life wonderfully lived and a woman dearly loved.

As per her wishes cremation has been accorded and a private celebration of life was held to honor her. Rogers Family Mortuary is in care of arrangements. To leave online tributes, memories and condolences for Joni's family please visit www.RogersFunerals.com.
