Jonathan Alan
Crowther
January 9, 1969 – May 14, 2025
Jonathan Alan Crowther was born on January 9, 1969 to Robert G. Crowther and Mary Lou Reynolds. He passed away on May 14, 2025, at his home in Lakewood, Colorado.
He grew up in the small town of Sanford, Colorado, the youngest of seven children. His family owned Crowther Dairy where he learned the value of hard work and responsibility. He attended Sanford High School and graduated in 1987.
He served a mission in Milan, Italy, from 1989-1991 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It remained one of his most cherished memories throughout his life. After his mission, he attended college at the University of Colorado-Denver and then the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science.
In June of 1993, he married Angie Martin and had three beautiful children: Jolie (27), Cade (24) and Ava (21). He loved his family, and made sure to instill his sense of adventure in his children. He took them camping, climbed trees with them, and took them for rides in his cop car.
In December of 1999, he graduated from the police academy at Arapahoe Community College. Over his 13-year career, he served as a patrol officer, detective, drug task force detective, training officer, and a member of the honor guard. He took great pride in his work, and it brought him joy to serve. He had endless laughs with his coworkers, and Jon was infamous in the Department for his outrageous driving. In his own words, "Thank you for giving me the privilege and honor of serving as a police officer for the last 13 years. The Broomfield Police Department is truly my family."
Jon was an avid photographer, who found solace in exploring the mountains that he called home. He loved the open road, and the motorcycles that took him all over the country.
Jon's legacy is carried on by his beloved children, Jolie, Cade, and Ava Crowther of Denver, CO, his father, Robert (Cleo) Crowther of Sanford, CO; and his siblings Robert (Kathy) Crowther of Buena Vista, CO, Warren (Kathy) Crowther and Carl Crowther of Sanford, CO, Kent (Tamie) Crowther of Saratoga Springs, UT, Brian (Valerie) Crowther of Sanford, CO, and Lisa Sandos of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Crowther.
Jon's life was a journey of love, adventure, and resiliency. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his fiery spirit, and his adventurous soul.
