Obituary

John Burrell Treme, 72, a resident of Alamosa, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, just days before his 73rd birthday. He was born on June 2, 1953, in Morgan City, Louisiana, to James Treme and Frances Dunn.

John was a devoted outdoorsman who found great joy in nature. He enjoyed gold panning, fly fishing, camping, hunting, and especially elk hunting. Whether in the mountains, along a river, or around a campfire, John was happiest outdoors and shared his love of adventure with family and friends throughout his life.

John is survived by his sons, Raymond McGuinness; Joshua Treme (Brittney Siler); and Paul Treme (Marisa Gonzales). He is also survived by his brothers, Bill Treme and Joe Treme; his sisters, Margaret Comstock (Craig), Virginia Treme, Geraldine Parrish, and Francis Treme; and his cherished grandchildren, Rylie Treme, Lylli Gonzales, and Robin Foust.

John also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Treme and Frances Dunn; his sister, Carrol T. Porter; his brother, Frank H. Treme; and his sister, Maryann Treme.

At this time, no services will be held.

John’s love for the outdoors, his adventurous spirit, and the memories he created with those he loved will be treasured and remembered always.
