Antonito- John I. Maestas

A longtime resident of Antonito, Colorado passed away April 9, 2024, at Rio Grande Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. John was the son of Esmael and Doloritas Maestas of La Jara, Colorado. He was born on May 15, 1931. He was married to Eva Gonzales, their son was Eugene Maestas, both Eva and Eugene preceded John in death. John married Lowella Atencio and they have a daughter Tara Maestas. John is survived by his wife and daughter, and his siblings: Frances Hall, (Roy Hall) and Bernal Maestas (Connie). He is preceded in death by parents Esmael and Doloritas Maestas, brothers Gilbert Maestas, Samuel Ben Maestas, Floyd Maestas, Trinidad Maestas, Eddie Maestas, Adelmo Maestas, and sisters Sarah Valdez, and Ernestina Mondragon. John was a longtime fan of the Broncos and he loved playing the guitar. John enjoyed the time he spent with his wife Lowella and daughter Tara who he loved very much.
