Jeremy Joseph
Arellano
September 14, 1970 – August 27, 2025
Jeremy Arellano, a cherished pillar of the Alamosa community, passed away peacefully in his hometown on August 27, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on September 14, 1970, in Alamosa, Colorado, Jeremy's life was a testament to the enduring strength of love, family, and dedication.
Jeremy's journey began as the beloved son of Elevee and Delma Arellano, and he grew to become a wise and loving man, touching the lives of all who knew him. His commitment to his family was unwavering, and he found his greatest joy in the company of his loving wife, Joley Shawcroft Arellano, and their children, Alysia (Andrew) Masias, Kelsey (Hunter) McDaniel, Taylor Arellano, and Gunner Arellano, all of whom he imbued with his kindhearted spirit and love for life.
A devoted grandfather, Jeremy's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Abrianna, Elias, Zoey, Oaklyn, Rhyatt, and Rowdy, who will forever remember his gentle guidance and the warmth of his embrace. His sister, Dolores (Eric Murdoch) Arellano, shared in the family's closeness, a bond that was a source of great comfort and happiness for Jeremy.
His interests were as varied as they were passionate. An avid outdoorsman, Jeremy found solace in the mountains, whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the tranquility of nature. His love for shooting was matched by his skill in target practice, and the knives he crafted were as beautiful as they were a reflection of his meticulous nature. He also took really good care of their yard, making sure the grass, flowers and trees always looked their best. Jeremy's creative spirit also found expression in his jewelry making and in the care he lavished upon his chickens.
Jeremy's calm demeanor, kindness, and wisdom were the hallmarks of his character. Always willing to go the extra mile for others, he embodied the virtues of a good father, grandfather, son, and husband. His impact extended to his parents-in-law, Eddie and Vicki Shawcroft, his siblings-in-law, Brandon (Robyn) Shawcroft, Tyler (Diana) Shawcroft, Amy (Kurt) Thompson, and Cody (Leah) Shawcroft, and his numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.
As we bid farewell to Jeremy Arellano, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and his spirit will remain a comforting presence in the community he so adored. Jeremy's legacy is one of love, wisdom, and the gentle strength that defined his every action. He will be deeply missed, but the light of his life will shine on in the hearts of those who loved him.
