Jami Lea Shawcroft Brown passed away on June 29, 2026 at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Denver.
Jami was born March 27, 1988 the youngest child of Perry Reese Shawcroft and Beverly Jean Buhr. She joined her four older siblings at home and thrived on being the center of attention. Jami loved cats and she was often seen and photographed loving and playing with her kitties. When she was old enough she joined 4-H and trained her dog Cookie in obedience where she was able to take her to the state fair to compete.
Jami attended elementary school in La Jara and graduated in 2007 from Centauri High School after which she attended Adams State College.
Jami met Alex in 2006 and they have been a couple ever since. They became parents to three children Ember (13), Eden (10) and Phoenix (9). Jami was a loving, devoted wife and mother. Her family meant everything to her and she had a quiet, humble influence on each of them.
Jami is survived by her husband Alex and three children of the family home in Alamosa. Also survived by her mother-in-law Carla Brown and sister-in-law Summer; her parents Perry and Bev Shawcroft, La Jara; siblings Jesse (Cassie) Shawcroft, La Jara; Kelly (Sari) Shawcroft, Teton, ID; April McCarroll (Craig), La Jara: Kimberly Shawcroft (Philip Malouff), Alamosa; paternal grandmother Ethel Shawcoft, La Jara and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jami was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Gary Shawcroft and maternal grandparents Ed and Lela Buhr.
Jami was a kind, tender-hearted wife, mother and daughter. She will be sorely missed by her immediate and extended family and all those who knew and loved her. We take comfort in the knowledge that she is in a better place where she is free from the mortal afflictions that had plagued her for the past few years.
Jami's family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and case managers at Penrose Hospital, Kindred Hospital and St. Luke's Hospital for the tireless, dedicated care they gave Jami for eight months. Also for the many prayers, love and support of friends and community.
Funeral services for Jami will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Rogers Family Funeral Home in Alamosa with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 followed by burial in the Alamosa Municipal Cemetery.
