James Merle Jeppesen Jr. - known as Jim to his friends and family was born November 27, 1950 in Rocky Ford, CO. He was a proud rancher and avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time with his family, his dogs, and his horses.

In his free time away from the telephone company, where he worked for 30+ years, he enjoyed team roping, all types of hunting and fishing, and shooting sporting clays. He made close friends in every area of his life and hobbies.

Jim died on June 7, 2023. He is survived by his wife Melanie, his daughter Amy (Seattle), and his sister, Olinda (John) Nevonnen (Rifle).

He is preceded in death by his parents James Sr., and Bertha Jeppesen, his son Jason Jeppesen, and his brother Fred Jeppesen.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at noon – 2pm at the Del Monte Gun Club at 2355 US-160 in Alamosa. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund www.jdrf.org.
