Helen Lorraine Larsen, a beloved mother, devoted friend, and cherished member of the Sanford community, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on December 23, 1941, Lorraine lived her life with kindness and grace, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

 A faithful member of the Sanford 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Lorraine found endless joy in her deep-rooted sense of community and devotion to her faith and her family. 

As a proud homemaker, Lorraine loved nothing more than her garden and her kitchen. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, and there was always something delicious waiting in her kitchen. Her salsa had a loyal following, her pies disappeared before they cooled, and her cinnamon rolls could solve just about any problem. When you stopped by her house, chances are you’d leave with a full stomach, a crisp cold Dr. Pepper in your hand, and maybe a jar of something she had canned from her garden. 

Lorraine’s passion extended to her craft as an avid quilter and sewer, activities she thoroughly enjoyed doing with ladies in the community and especially with her best friends, Connie and Reenie.

 A devoted fan of the Sanford Indians/Mustangs, Lorraine eagerly followed the team's games. Since 1973 she most likely had a child or grandchild playing, and as long as she was physically able, she never missed a state tournament. Her loyalty and passion made her family smile. 

Lorraine is survived by her brother Brent (Darlee) Dyer and her children, Kyle (Marci) Larsen, Jeff (Brenda) Larsen, Dana (Wilma) Larsen, Rhett (Roxane) Larsen, Melissa (Kit) Caldon, Cole (Shanae) Larsen, and daughter-in-law Priscilla Larsen, along with her 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren who carry on her legacy of love and compassion.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; James Leland Dyer and Louise Mortensen, her siblings; Bruce Dyer, Gil Dyer, and Connie Jean Dyer, and her son, Blane Larsen. 

There will be a visitation Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sanford, with services to follow at 11 a.m. Lorraine will be laid to rest at the Sanford Cemetery following the service. The family invites friends and community members to gather in her memory to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who embodied love and service in every aspect.
