On June 12, 2023, Harold Leslie Bennett, Sr., Moffat resident, was called home to be with his lord and savior. He was born in Salida, Co on July 15, 1938 to A.H. Bennett and Nellie (Shelton) Bennett. He has lived in Moffat Co, Salida Co, Olathe Co. Olathe is where he graduated from school and married his first wife Alma Flaze. They had a daughter Lea Ann (Bennett) Dickerson. They moved to California for a while, then they came back to Colorado. Harold and Alma divorced, and Harold moved back to Moffat. He met his second wife Enda (King) Bennett. They married in 1962. In 1963 They had Robin (Bennett) Kocerha. Then in 1967 they had Harold Leslie Bennett Jr. (Les). They moved around a few times, within in the San Luis Valley.

Harold enjoyed his time spent square dancing as family. He was in a Wednesday night bowling league. He would enjoy snowmobiling and 4wheeling with friends and family. Harold was a projector operator for the theater in Monte Vista. He was a tractor mechanic for over 50 years. His preferred tractor was a Massey Ferguson. He would spend time with his friends and family going camping, fishing, boating, and hiking. In his later years Harold and Edna moved to Moffat to live on the family ranch. Harold ran a herd of sheep as a hobby. He was an active member of both Moffat free spirit church and Crestone Baptist church. Harold also proudly served over 20 years, on the Moffat volunteer fire department.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Cleo (5 hrs. old), his wife Edna Bennett of 58 years, his son Les Bennett, and his son in-law Ernest Kocerha Jr. Harold is also survived by his Daughter Robin (Bennett) Kocerha of Moffat Co, her children, Yancy Mann of wellington Tx, Quinton Mann Center Co, Felicia Kocerha of Colorado City Co, her kids Troy Kocerha and Madison Kocerha. Daughter Lea Ann (Robert) Dickerson of Olathe Co, Her children: Heather Bayless of Delta Co, Her kids Alyssa and Alyn. Angel (Jack) Sharp of Olathe Co, Her Kids Kaitlynn and Rowdy.

Services will be held for Harold June 24th, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Crestone Baptist Church, 70863 County Rd T, Crestone Co 81131.
