Georgia C.
Vance
January 25, 1947 – December 25, 2024
Georgia C. Vance, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on January 25, 1947, in Walsenburg, Colorado, to George and Caroline (Conder) Todd. Her journey came to a close at San Luis Care Center in Alamosa, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Georgia's life was a testament to love and dedication. She married her soulmate, Terry Vance, on December 3, 1966, at Christ The King Church in Pueblo, Colorado. Their union was blessed with 58 years of shared dreams and enduring affection. Together, they raised a family that included Jeffery (Elissa) Vance of Aurora, Christopher (Jessica) Vance of Monte Vista, Denise Tollenaar of Canon City, Melissa (Brad) Milner of Valrico, FL, Pamela (Joshua) Sinclair of Alamosa, and Amber (Ben) Burnett of Aiken, SC. Georgia's life was further enriched by the joy of numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Daniel Vance, her parents, George and Caroline Todd, and her parents-in-law, Jack and Lorraine Vance.
Georgia's life was a tapestry of involvement and passion. Her love for her grandchildren was absolute, and her welcoming spirit was felt by everyone she met. Christmas time and the music of Elvis Presley brought her immense joy, as did her hobbies of crocheting and sewing. A devoted Denver Broncos fan, she relished the excitement of football season. Her volunteer work with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts exemplified her commitment to her children's activities, and she was a constant presence at their sports events. Her Italian heritage shone through in her love of spaghetti and wine, and her generosity was known to all.
Those who knew Georgia will remember her for her loving nature, her generous spirit, and her kind heart. Her laughter was contagious, her smile ever-present, and she served as the nucleus of her family, a role she cherished and fulfilled with grace. As we bid farewell to Georgia, we celebrate her life, which was lived with love at its core, and we carry forward the light she so freely shared with the world.
It is Georgia's wishes that everyone who attends her funeral wear bright colors. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 8:30 am to 9:45 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10 am at the Feed Store Church in Monte Vista, Colorado. Interment will follow at the La Jara Cemetery.
