Longtime Del Norte resident Gail Soldato died Sunday, July 30,2023 at the River Valley Rehabilitation Healthcare Center Nursing Home in Del Norte Colorado.

Gail was born on September 23, 1952 in Plattsburgh New York to Melvin Bennett Sr. and Ethelyn Bennett. She married the love of her life Don Soldato on December 4, 1970 in Peru, New York.

Gail was a fun-loving lady who enjoyed life and the adventure life provided. She had a very deep love for her two children and her pets, of which she had many. She and her husband had a Ferrett rescue, at one point they had 28 Ferrets, they brought much joy into Gail's life.

Gail is survived by her spouse Don Soldato, her son Joseph Shane (Jen) Soldato of Kileen Texas, her daughter Donna Maria (Brian) Soldato McVeay of Owensmill New York; her 2 sisters Helen Bodnar (and spouse) of Florida and Lynne Lowe (and spouse) of Pennsylvania; her 2 brothers Melvin Bennett Jr. (and Spouse) of Utah and Warren Bennett (Kathy) of Plattsburgh NY; her grandchildren Shane Ice, Alex Soldato, Joscelyn Leach, Regan Soldato, Joey Soldato, Brennan Soldato, Gabe Soldato, and Adelynn Soldato; as well as numerous cousins and a few Aunts and Uncles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her twin Guy Bennett, two of her sisters Janice and Janet and numerous aunts and uncles.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
