Fredrick “Fred” H. Jones, 79, passed away on October 24, 2026. He was born on February 12, 1947, and was a longtime resident of Del Norte, Colorado.

Fred earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Adams State College. He worked as an accountant for Del Norte Potato Growers and Mountain Valley Lumber. Fred enjoyed keeping busy. He served the Lord as a member of Emmanuel Chapel in South Fork, Colorado for many years. He found fellowship and joy in spending time with his church community.

Fred married his wife, Fran Clark, on February 14, 1970, at the Alamosa Presbyterian Church. They were married 56 years, and enjoyed family, work, and community.

Fred is survived by his wife, Fran Jones; his son, Matthew Jones; and his siblings, Allen (Sharon) Jones, Maria Hiner, and Susie (Don) Macdonald, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Jones and Dorothy Wunsch; and his brothers, William “Bill” Jones and Franklin Jones.
