Felix Alfred
Salazar
June 19, 1953 – July 13, 2025
Felix "the Cat" Salazar, embarked on his final journey on July 13, 2025, at the age of 72, in the same town where he first opened his eyes to the world, Alamosa, Colorado. Born on June 19, 1953, to the late Joe Salazar and Lillian Quintana-Salazar. He was a steadfast presence in the community he loved, exemplifying a spirited, intelligent, and loving essence.
Felix earned a respected place in the local automotive community. Fueled by his love for engines and the open road, he built a rewarding career as the proud owner and operator of Felix's Texaco-Conoco. Whether tuning up a classic muscle car or cruising through mountain air on his Harley-Davidson, his passion was unmistakable, passing on that same spark to his son. A devoted collector, Felix held a deep appreciation for antiques and the rich history they carried.
Beyond his business, Felix thrived in the great outdoors. Camping, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling weren't just hobbies; they were threads woven into the fabric of his life, stitching together countless memories with friends and family. He was an active member of the River of Life Assembly of God Church, where his faith flourished. His bond and connection went further than the church walls, he built a community that deepened his devotion.
In addition to his parents, Felix strides through the gates of heaven to join his siblings, Casey Salazar and Joe Salazar. He is survived by his sister Joyce Salazar, uncle Leo Quintana, children Paul Salazar, and Tanya Sewell, and nephew Adam Archuleta. His legacy continues to brighten this world through his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins who are scattered across Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and North Carolina, spreading the joy and resilience he instilled in them.
Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2025 at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Alamosa.
