Faustino Mora, a man defined by adventure, creativity, and a lifelong pursuit of new ideas, passed away in April 26th, 2026 at the age of 71.
Born on December 1, 1954, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tino carried a deep love for life, people, and discovery wherever he went. He was a craftsman, inventor, businessman, artist, and above all, a genuine people person who never met a stranger. Tino was passionate about many things. He loved fishing and had his own secret fishing spots, treasured his faith, and found joy in telling stories and connecting with others. He had a gift for making people feel seen and was always willing to lend a helping hand, even to strangers. He found peace in the simple and meaningful things in life, from his dog Peace and the wild horses and birds on his property to his beloved red 1986 Toyota 4Runner.
A dedicated educator for over 30 years, Tino taught science and art throughout Colorado and New Mexico, impacting countless lives along the way. He was recognized many times for his commitment, passion, and excellence in teaching. He was also a talented artist whose work reflected his creativity and spirit. Strong in his faith, Tino lived with conviction and purpose, and his beliefs were a guiding force throughout his life. Above all, Tino loved his children and his family deeply, and that love was evident in everything he did.
He is survived by his mother Demie Ramirez, his stepmother Florence Mora, and his 12 siblings: Joe Mora jr., Ida Garrison/Mora, Pete Ramirez, Sandra Rodriguez, Teresa Ramirez, Annette Gutierrez, Rosemary Mora, Rick Mora and his partner Liz Garcia, Julia Moya and her partner Henry Chavez, Loretta Mora, Gene and his wife Michelle Mora, Rodney and his wife Lynette Mora. He leaves behind his children: Derrek Jojola and his wife Tiffani, along with their children, Maysen, Paxten, Oaklyn, Keenan, and Nolan; Josiah Mora; Kielan Mora; Maylee Mora; and Braeden Mora and his wife, Nicole. Along with 3 generations of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Albert Mora; his stepfather, Pete Ramirez; and his brothers, Robert and Charles Mora.
A celebration of life will be held in Chilili, New Mexico, on Saturday, May 9th at 12:30 pm, located at the Multi-Purpose Building (gym) (9868 NM-337 Chilili, NM 87059)
The burial will follow the celebration of life at Campo Santo de Chilili.
