Obituary

Alamosa resident Fabricio Ilias Corleone Benskin, 14, died October 2, 2023 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa.

Fabricio's life began in Alamosa, Colorado on July 27, 2009, the son of Charles W. Benskin, Jr., and Anjel Maes Tapia.

Fabricio enjoyed watching television programs, especially West Coast Customs and SWAT with Toni And Dad. He liked to play video games with his family and friends, ride dirt bikes with his cousins, and play his PS4 with his brothers and online friends. He enjoyed lifting weights and heavy bag boxing drills in the man cave. Fabricio enjoyed rock crawling with Joe and Kellan and fishing with his 'Uncle' Dondy his Dad and Toni. He enjoyed listening to music and drawing he was very artistic. He took great pride in his appearance and enjoyed dressing up to look classy, immaculate and sharp. He liked custom shoes from Kicks of Chicago. Fabricio studied the Bible with his Dad and younger brother Toni regularly. Fabricio believed firmly in a promise made in the Bible in Revelation 21:3,4. Fabricio had numerous very close friends and family that he would spend 2-3 times a week with on regular basis his whole life at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed cooking Indonesian Satay and making Sushi for his family and reminding his little brother Toni "Ey gotta finish your food." Fabricio was a Lakers fan. He loved shopping for jewelry and a Raiders fan with his brother Wilfredo. He enjoyed hanging out at skate park and open gym in Monte vista with his brothers Mario and Wilfredo. He enjoyed going to Elitch's. Fabricio loved where he was raised in Las Vegas, NV. He cherished his friends from Las Vegas.

He would proudly tell you "I'm not country." Fabricio was a hard worker at whatever he put his mind to and would not stop until he accomplished his goal. He was intelligent loving and caring. He wanted to work for NASA. He said I'm not going to grow up to be a mechanic Dad. He wanted a street bike when he turned of age for his first vehicle. Most of all Fabricio loved and cherished the time with his Dad his Mom And three brothers. "Bricio had a bright smile that could light up the day. He was quiet and reserved but when he did speak you knew it was something important. He will be missed by his teachers because he was a hard worker and always had a kind heart for his classmates." He is survived by his parents Charles Benskin, Jr. of Alamosa, and Anjel Tapia of Monte Vista; his brothers Wilfredo Sanchez and Mario Sanchez of Monte Vista, and Antonio Benskin of Alamosa; his grandparents Theresa and Dave Chavez of Alamosa; his great-grandfather Charles W. Benskin, Sr. of Pueblo, CO; his great-grandmothers Josephine Benskin of Pueblo, CO, and Donna DeHerrera of Alamosa, CO; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Fabricio is preceded in death by his sister Latina Sanchez, his grandparents Destiny and Mario Chavez, his uncles Froylan Chavez, Ezequiel Chavez, Oscar Chavez, and Ismael Chavez.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
