Erlinda T.
Lucero
January 30, 1943 – November 25, 2024
Monte Vista resident Erlinda T. Lucero, 81, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in the serene town of Los Pinos, New Mexico, to Arculano & Genera (Cisneros) Manzanares. Erlinda's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and unwavering faith.
Erlinda's journey began on a path woven with love and partnership when she married her soulmate, Lee Lucero, on November 3, 1956. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and an enduring bond that lasted 68 magnificent years. Erlinda, a devoted homemaker, took immense pride in maintaining a home that was not just in perfect order but also a warm and welcoming haven for all who entered.
Her home was the heart of the family, a place where the aroma of her cooking filled the air, and there was always a delicious meal waiting, especially for her cherished grandchildren. Erlinda's culinary skills were matched only by her passion for sewing and quilting, creating beautiful pieces that were both works of art and expressions of her love.
Erlinda's zest for life was evident in her love for gambling, a pastime that brought her excitement and joy. But it was her love for entertaining family and friends that truly defined her. Erlinda's home was the epicenter of gatherings, where laughter echoed, stories were shared, and memories were made. She lived to love, especially her grandchildren, showering them with affection and teaching them the values of kindness and compassion.
A devout member of the Catholic Church, Erlinda's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She lived a life that exemplified the virtues of being loving, thoughtful, and faith-filled. Her unwavering belief in the goodness of people and the grace of God guided her through life's journey.
Erlinda is survived by her husband Lee, Children Anthony Lucero, Judy Lucero, Danny Lucero, and Jeanette (Randy) Martinez all of Monte Vista, Colorado; siblings Lorraine (Jose) Villagomez, Theresa (Petrolino) Guerra both of Monte Vista, Colorado, Wilma (Jesse) Samora, Ernest (Geraldine) Manzanares both of Grand Junction, Colorado; Thirteen Grand-Kids and Nineteen Great-Grandkids.
