October 30, 1925 – March 12, 2024
Johnny's life began on October 30, 1925, in Manassa, Colorado, born to James Rufus Jack and Leola King Jack. He married his longtime sweetheart Marie Hicks on January 19, 1946 in Merced, California. They enjoyed more than 61 years together until her death on March 11, 2007. Johnny was a proud member of the US Navy who survived the torpedoing of the USS Honolulu on July 13, 1943. One of Johnny's favorite pastime activities was supporting his wife Marie on her hunting and fishing expeditions.
Johnny owned and operated Quality Packing Company and M&J Corrals for many years. Due to his generosity, many of the less fortunate in the community did not go hungry. His kindness provided comfort for countless people. He was a wonderful spouse, father, and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.
Johnny was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in numerous positions, including Fox Creek Branch President, Stake President in Sunday School, and Single Adult Coordinator, among others.
Johnny is survived by his children Eileen Meyers of Alamosa, CO., and Robert Jack of La Jara, CO; three grandchildren, Nathan (Renae) Haslett of Alamosa, Chad (Belinda) Haslett of Arkansas, Robin (Delbert) Rivera of Farmington, NM; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
