Obituary

Edward “Brother” Matthew Herrera, a resident of La Jara, Colorado, and former resident of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away on June 10, 2026. He was born on January 19, 2010.

Edward was a student in the ninth grade at Saint Augustine Catholic High School in Antonito, Colorado. He was known for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends.

Edward enjoyed skateboarding, boxing, wrestling, attending concerts, going to car shows, and spending time with his friends and family. He cherished every opportunity to make memories with those he loved most.

He is survived by his sister, Emily Herrera; his aunt, Mary (Carlos) Large; his uncles, Joseph (Lorrinda) Pacheco and Jose (Christina) Pacheco; his special cousins, Seniza Pacheco, Angelica Pacheco, Jonathan Martinez, Leiliana Pacheco, Aliyah Pacheco, Kayla Large, Santos Large, and Daisee Smith; his close friend, Jayden Gonzalez; his mother figure, Erika Martinez; his little sister, Lilianna Martinez; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Ojr Herrera and Claudia Jean Pacheco Herrera; his grandparents, Joseph Pacheco and Ernestine Romero; his great-grandparents, Elovio and Sally Pacheco; and numerous other beloved family members.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the La Jara Ward, located at 716 Broadway Street, La Jara, Colorado. A closed-casket visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., where family and friends may gather and pay their respects.

Burial will follow immediately after the service at the New Manassa Cemetery.

Edward will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
