La Jara resident Donna Marie Peck, 70, passed away on April 16, 2023. She was born on June 2, 1952 in Richland, Washington. She was the daughter of Raymond H. Vincent and Theresa (Gaskil) Vincent. Donna married Wayne Peck on September 4, 1988 in Creede, Colorado. She was a former member of the Conejos County Democratic Party. Donna worked for many years alongside Wayne in their outfitting business based out of Creede. She worked for the 2010 Census and enjoyed her time exploring the valley. In her later years she took a job as a clerk in a cannabis shop and she really enjoyed educating novice users on the benefits of marijuana. Her passions involved, being in the mountains, camping, going to rock concerts and photography, she loved her dog Popeye and her peacock and horses. She always told Wayne that she enjoyed fishing with a book and hunting with a camera. Her faith was a very important and driving force in her life.

Donna is survived by her husband Wayne Peck, her children Jason (Vicki) Vinyard and Paxton Vinyard, her grandchildren Kodi Vinyard, Taryn Vinyard, Kristan Vinyard, Brandon Vinyard and Nathan Vinyard, her great grandchildren, Waylon, Wilder and Liam.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Jarod Vinyard.
