Mosca resident Cyril Andrew Carragher, 34, died March 8, 2023.

Cyril was born in Chimayo, New Mexico on July 12, 1988 to Peter E. Carragher and Susana Valdez. He married the love of his life, Nicole M. Kirkendall on April 6, 2015.

Cyril was an excellent fisherman and loved spending time in the mountains. He was an intelligent man, who loved to play chess and read books. He was a hard worker and a selfless person, always willing to lend a hand when he could. His aspirations were to become a Pilot or work on airplanes.

Cyril is survived by his wife Nicole Carragher of Mosca, CO; his father Peter Carragher of Canjilon, N.M.; his step-children Aaliyah Valley and Alyssa Valley; his siblings Michael (Melissa Martin) Carragher of Aurora, CO, Edward B. Carragher of Chama, N.M., his grandfather James D. Warner of Center, CO; his parents-in-law Debi and Frank Kirkendall; his aunts and uncles: Luella Valdez of Alamosa, Andres Valdez of Albuquerque, N.M., Louie (Maxine) Valdez of Denver, CO, Valentina (Joe) Martinez of Tierra Maria, N.M., Carlena (Larry Valdez) Ceja of Alamosa, CO; and Sally Bedborough of England; his special cousins Shea Vega, Brennan Vega, Adelita Tijerina, and Jose Luis Martinez, whom he considered a brother; as well as numerous other cousins, extended family and friends.

Cyril is preceded in death by his mother Susana, his cousins Isaac Vega and Jacquline Lucero-Tijerina, his grandparents Constancia Valdez, Cyril & Gabrielle Carragher; and his aunt Theresa Dadzitis.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday March 16, 2023 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 12:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Alamosa Family Recreational Center, 2222 Old Sanford Road, in Alamosa.
