Longtime Sanford resident Christopher Lopez, 17, passed away on July 16, 2021 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. He was born on August 22, 2003 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Ronald Keith Badger, Jr. and Marla Angelique Lopez. Chris was a true grit cowboy. He was a fearless young man that showed respect and gratitude to the wilderness and his elders. He was a loving son and uncle as well as an amazing fisherman and hunter. He was a great wrestler and a fearless defensive football player.

Chris is survived by his mother and stepfather, Marla (Isaac Jackson) Lopez, his father and stepmother, Ronald (Shawn) Badger, his grandparents, Valerie and Alfonzo Lopez, Phillip and Cindy Mueller, his sisters, Angelique Saenz, Annaliese Lopez and Alannah Jackson, his brothers, Ryan Barb, Jacob Badger and Zander Badger, his aunts and uncles, Kristina Mueller, Jill Mueller, Jacon Mueller and Zachary Mueller, his nephew Uriah Quintana as well as his Godparents, Daphne and Orlando Renteria as well as numerous other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Gabe Lopez.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday July 22, 2021 at the Sanford Community Center.
