Obituary

Christine C. Caton, a deeply cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the Homelake Veterans Center in Monte Vista, Colorado. Born on July 16, 1948, in Garden City, Kansas, to parents Raymond and Alice Dahl Chambers, Christine's radiant spirit blessed this world for 76 years.

Devoted spouse to Scott Caton of Alamosa, Colorado, Christine nurtured a family full of love and laughter. She is survived by her husband Scott; children Ben (Angie) Caton of Eagle, CO, Jess (Tish) Caton, and Russ (Bethany) Caton both of Alamosa, CO, Ashley Caton of Grand Falls, ND, Trace (Brittny) Caton of Highland, UT, and Bart (Michelle) Caton of Cottonwood, UT. Together, they planted roots that extended to 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom inherited her zest for life and her generous heart. She is also survived by her sisters Lisa Chambers, Diana (Hex) Bisbee, Katrina Chambers, and many nieces and nephews.

Christine attended a few colleges and earned her bachelor's degree from Adams State College. For many years she served as a homemaker raising her children and many animals on the family farm. Then she had a successful career as an insurance agent for State Farm for 25 years. She and Scott served as service missionaries on the Mormon Pioneer Trail and on the Navajo reservation following her retirement.

She poured her heart into motherhood, and her children and grandchildren were the crowning glory of her life's work. Christine led an adventurous and busy life with many endeavors with her partner Scott including many business ventures, but none took priority over her kids and grandkids. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints she served throughout her life in numerous callings blessing the lives of all she interacted with.

Friends and family will remember Christine as a loving, adventurous, and faith-filled soul. Her presence was a gift that will continue to inspire those who were privileged to share in her journey. The legacy Christine leaves behind is one of unyielding love, boundless energy for life, selfless service to others, and a profound commitment to her belief. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and eternally appreciated by everyone whose lives she touched.
