Charlie Joe Medina also known as “Chuck” was 53 years old. Charlie was born May 2nd 1973 and passed away on August 31st 2026. Charlie was born in Alamosa Colorado and passed away at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. Charlie was raised in Alamosa Colorado along with his three siblings Christopher, Dion, and Brenda. He graduated from Alamosa High School in 1992. Charlie had a passion for detailing, but also was open to gain experience doing different jobs as he loved to stay busy.

A few things Charlie loved doing was golfing, softball, spending time with friends, going on new adventures, and most importantly spending time with his two children Kayla and Zavier. No matter the time of day or the things he would be doing he would always find a way to bring up his two kids. He loved talking about their achievements, how he would spend time with them, and most importantly how excited he would get when they called each other on the phone. Charlie and his kids favorite thing to do was golf, they spent many years out at the golf course together, and he would be extremely happy knowing they both still have a loving passion for golf. Charlie had a big group of friends who he loved watching football with, golfing, softball back in the day, and being able to hangout with when one another needed each other.

Charlie was a loving, caring, and an outgoing human being. He would always put others before himself, he always treated others with respect, he would do everything he could do to make others happy or feel better when they were having a bad day. He cared and loved every single person that was in his life or around him deeply. Charlie was kind hearted and was always ready to be there and support his friends and family at any given time. One of our favorite memories of our dad was when we went to California for a Cubs vs. Dodgers baseball game. We were both very young at the time, and don’t remember that trip well, but one thing we will always remember was how excited our dad was to see his favorite team the Chicago Cubs play in person for the very first time. It is a great memory for us to get to experience that with our dad, share this memory, and live on with happiness knowing that we were part of an experience that he always dreamed of doing.

Above all, Charlie’s greatest love was his family. He is survived by his two children, Kayla Medina and Zavier Medina; his siblings Christopher (Nichole) Medina, Dion Medina, and Brenda (Neil) Sanchez; his mother Benita Medina, and his father David Medina; along with many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many cherished friends who became family throughout his life.

There will be a viewing for family and friends on Thursday, September 10th, at Roger’s Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Immediate family is invited to attend from 4:00-5:00 p.m., followed by a public viewing for friends and loved ones from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A Rosary will be held on Friday, September 11th, at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place directly following the service at the Alamosa Municipal Cemetery. Afterward, the family invites everyone to gather at Knee Knockers for food, drinks, and a time to come together in remembrance of Charlie.
