Cecil Annabelle Woodman passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones on December 31, 2022. Annabelle was born on September 10, 1926 in Mineral Hot Springs, Colorado to Cecil Glenn Dieckman and Eva Rebecca Broll. Annabelle grew up in the Moffat, Colorado area with brothers, Douglas Glen and Frank Delano and sisters Grayce Fern and Carolyn. She graduated from Moffat High School as valedictorian of her class, received her under graduate degree in education from Colorado University in Boulder and later received her master's degree

Although Annabelle went to school in Moffat, she never formally met Stanley Woodman until after they both had graduated. They met at a dance in Villa Grove. After meeting each other they were rarely apart except for a time while in Oregon when they had a long-distance relationship. At that time, Annabelle was teaching school in Bend, Oregon and Stanley was working for his uncle at the family sawmill business in Eugene, Oregon. Stanley and Annabelle celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary together this past December 28th. The couple have lived in Oregon, Romeo, The Baca Grande, Denver and several homes in the Alamosa and Waverly area.

Annabelle taught school all of her working career. She taught kindergarten in Alamosa. She and her good friend, Mercy Noriega, pioneered the Head Start Program in Alamosa. Later she taught in the LaJara School District and for a short time in Romeo. After retiring from teaching, Stanley and Annabelle continued working on their ranch in the Waverly District. They volunteered in the Denver and Albuquerque Temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They served a 6-month mission in Salt Lake City in the church records department. Annabelle worked diligently in the Family History Center and enjoyed volunteering there. She authored two books; Poetry 4 the Soul, a book of her poetry and the children's book These Braces. Stanley and Annabelle enjoyed square dancing for many years. Annabelle took many opportunities to travel with a church tour group, her daughter, Camilla and cousin, Betty Broll. Annabelle is preceded in death by sons, Steven Douglas and Jonathan Gragg, a grandson Jonathan Douglas, her parents, her sister Grayce, her brothers Douglas and Frank. Annabelle is survived by her husband, Stanley, her sister Carolyn in Melbourne, Florida, her sons, Dave in Palm Springs, California, Jim and his wife Ivone in Tempe, Arizona and her daughter Camilla Guymon and her husband Ron in Milton, Washington, 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, caregivers Tess, Teri and Josette. Annabelle was a member of the Rock Creek Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Anyone who knew Annabelle loved her. She was a friend to all and loved by her family and friends. Annabelle will be dearly missed but we know she is with her sons and all who have passed from this life. Funeral will be Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - 3rd and Richardson Building in Alamosa. A noon drive to Rito Alto Cemetery in Moffat, Colorado will be followed by a 1pm graveside service. Funeral arrangements are being made by Rogers Mortuary in Alamosa.
