Longtime Capulin resident Carol R. Quintana, 75, died June 18, 2023 at the Centura Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.

Carol was born in Bountiful, Colorado on April 19, 1948, the daughter of Gilbert Cisneros and Eufelia Gallegos Cisneros. She married her husband of more than 44 years, Jose C. Quintana, on December 9, 1978 in Capulin, Colorado.

Carol loved going for drives and spending time in the mountains. She also enjoyed going to car shows and occasionally visiting a casino. Carol was famous for her tortillas, her beautiful rose bushes, and her apple tree. Her favorite past-time activity was word searches. Carol especially enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, cooking, laughing, and making beautiful memories that her family will forever cherish.

She is survived by her husband Jose of the family home in Capulin; her children Sarah (Anthony) Castro of Alamosa, Ramona (Carlos) Castillo of Alamosa, Rosalie (Carissa) Quintana of Denver, Jose (Jessica) Quintana of Alamosa, an Maria (Fidel) Quintana of Capulin; her grandchildren Jullian, Mya, Neviah, Carlos, Jr., Donovan, Shia, Nathaniel, Aliyah, and Marianna; her great-grandchildren Rainey and Kai; her siblings Manuel (Emily) Cisneros of Alamosa, Johanne Salazar of La Jara, Sylvia Maestas of Denver, Joyce Atencio of Alamosa, Bonnie Walden of La Jara, Larry (Olivia) Cisneros of La Jara, Chris Cisneros of Alamosa, Amy (Paul) Gallegos of Pueblo, Michael Cisneros of Grand Junction; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers David Cisneros and Bobby Cisneros.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023, a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, both at the St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Capulin. Interment will follow service in the La Jara Cemetery.
