Carolene Parberry passed away on August 29, 2026 at Rock Canyon Rehab Center in Pueblo after a long battle with her illnesses. Carolene was born October 16, 1958 in Alamosa, Colorado to Wilma Guymon Flores and Kenneth Guymon. Wilma, Kenneth, her brothers, Steven Albert and Martin Edwin preceded her in Death.
Carolene is survived by her husband Robert Parberry, her loving daughter Latisha Schroeder, her son William Parberry, her grandchildren Raevyn, Emily, Tyson, and Myla Pala as well as any children she also considered part of her family, her brother Michael (Debbie) Guymon, Sandra Allerrt and her nieces and nephew, Loren Guymon. She is also survived by her two aunts who loved her dearly.
Carolene was a talented and meticulous seamstress. She pieced many beautiful and complex quilts and then hand quilted them. She used the skills she learned from her mother and grandmother Vivian Knight. Carolene was also skilled in crocheting and knitting and will be remembered for her aprons and crocheted scrubbies.
Carolene will also be remembered for her generous heart that she gave freely to anyone and loved unconditionally. Carolene donated a quilt in honor of Capt Jack (Mark Schroeder) when he passed away, baby quilts for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, hand made baby quilts and crocheted hats for the newborns at the Conejos Hospital, and even donated a beautiful Indian quilt to the Sanford School District just to name a few examples of her big heart. She was always doing whatever she could to help her friends and family in any way she could.
Robert and Carolene were married June 7, 2002. Together they created a life filled with spur of the moment adventures. It was not uncommon for them to decide to go on a trip spontaneously to the mountains to see waterfalls and relax and also to get firewood. One adventure ended up in Jackson County Missouri to see the Liberty Jail and then they headed north to Adam-ondi-Amon near James Port. They loved their yard, which inspired them to take a drive to numerous places to buy different plants, trees, and yard ornaments. They also attended many yard sales and auctions.
Carolene will be deeply missed by all of her family, friends, and anyone she could share her many talents with.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Friday, September 4th, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sanford, CO from 5 pm to 7 pm. Her funeral service will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sanford, CO on Saturday September 5th, 2026 at 11 am. Her burial will follow her service on Saturday at Sanford Cemetery.
